Coach Dave Beaudin Bio
Dave has been involved in Hockey for close to 50yrs.
The passion for hockey began in the frozen backyard of his home in Winnipeg in 1971. Dave’s father Norm played professional hockey for 18 years in Canada, The US and Switzerland including stints with The Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues. Dave saw his father become the “First Winnipeg Jet” playing with Hall of Famer Bobby Hull and enjoyed absorbing the creative structure and competition level of the Winnipeg Jets during the WHA and AVCO Cup winning years.
Daves’ youth hockey career began in the Winnipeg Minor Hockey League System and then expanded to 3 years of Minor hockey in the Swiss Youth Hockey system where he played on 2 Swiss Championship teams in Langnau, where his Father was a player Coach in the NLA, after retiring from the WHA Winnipeg Jets. After 3 years in Switzerland Minor Hockey , Dave and his family returned to Winnipeg and he played in the St. James Canadians system. “Playing on the Larger rinks in Europe allowed my game and skill development to blossom. Skating and Puck Control was the focus of play in Europe and it was a seamless transition for my game to adapt and compete with the Canadian system. “
Dave spent 2 years in Junior Hockey as a young 16 and 17 year old, playing against players like Barry Trotz (Stanley Cup Coach of Washington Capitals 2017, current coach of New York Islanders) , Grant Ledyard (18yr NHL Career with LA Kings and NY Rangers) and Mike Ridley (11yr NHL career with Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals and Vancouver Canucks).
Dave earned a scholarship to The Ohio State University, and was part of the first #1 Ranked NCAA D1 College team at Ohio State University. On the ice Dave spent 4 years with the Buckeyes, where he amassed 158 pts over 156 games playing future hall of famers such as Adam Oates. Part of his studies included being a Sport Teacher at University.
Dave worked at 2 Olympic Games and 2 Stanley Cups.

Daves’ approach to player development is simple, Master the Techniques….! when you become proficient in the skills of Skating, Puck Control, Shooting and Game Awareness ,you can fit into any Coaches system around the world. Having coached and been a General Manager at many levels and programs, Daves’ recent focus has been involved in teaching and lending his experience to players across Canada and the US. Dave now works as a scout for many Junior, College and Canadian Prep Schools.
Dave continues to impact youth players and families as a AAA Elite Coach with his Spring/Summer Development with the North American Selects and Florida Ice Pirates.
Dave and his brother Greg have also been very instrumental in exposing Pavel Barber as a World Class Stick handling guru.
Having now resided in Tampa, Florida for the past 30 years and being a part of the Florida Minor Hockey Landscape you can rest assured that your hockey future can definitely be enhanced with the help of Beaudin Hockey.
